Dick Stuart mashed 2 home runs off Gary Peters as the White Sox ace was unable to make it out of the 4th. The ChiSox get 14 hits and only score 2 runs over 16 innings -- both on solo home runs -- before Bob Aspromonte's 2nd home run of the game is a walk-off shot against Billy Hoeft. Jack Kralick puts Chicago into the win column with 8 shutout innings. Jon Fellows Chicago White Sox 1966 PreSMILEY World Champions "We Play Monetarist-Ball!" First baseman Dick Stuart rocketed 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Boston Red Sox defeated the Chicago AL White Sox 9 to 2 at Fenway Park. Stuart provided much of the offense. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 2nd inning, laced a base-knock scoring a run in the 3rd inning and lofted a three-run bomb (his 2nd of the season) in the 4th inning. Boston had 15 hits overall, while Chicago AL had 8. Tracy Stallard(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. Gary Peters(0-1) took the loss. He allowed 9 hits and 2 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings. Stuart said, 'It was just all timing. I had pretty good rhythm at the plate tonight. You've got to take advantage of mistakes when you can. A couple pitches were definitely up a little bit - right in my zone.'
