Well, this season is not starting well.  Senators sweep White Sox to send Chicago's record to 1-13.

C'mon guys!  This isn't going to get us a better draft pick.

The Washington Senators registered 5 runs in the 7th inning and nipped the
Chicago AL White Sox 6 to 5 at D.C. Stadium in a hard fought contest.

Ray Culp(1-2) pitched well in relief and was credited with the victory.  He
didn't give up much, just 2 hits and no walks in 2 innings seeing his ERA
drop from 3.86 to 3.29.  Chicago AL had 15 hits in the game while Washington
had 8, but Washington had the more timely hits.

Culp got relief help from Steve Ridzik who gained credit for his 2nd save.
Hoyt Wilhelm(0-2) was hit with the loss in relief.

The Washington ballclub's record now stands at 10-3.  Still in a bad slump,
with this loss, Chicago AL is 1-9 lately and 1-12, worst in the division on
the year.

Right fielder Johnny Callison connected with a 'big fly' and had 3 RBI as the
Washington Senators defeated the Chicago AL White Sox 8 to 3 at D.C.
Stadium.

Callison enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He ripped a base-knock knocking in a
run in the 1st inning, doubled bringing in a run in the 4th inning and
smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' (his 3rd of the season) in the 6th inning.
Washington had 12 hits for the afternoon while Chicago AL had 7.

The win was credited to Bennie Daniels(2-0) who went 6 and 1/3 innings
allowing 2 runs. Turk Farrell(0-3) took the loss.  He allowed 11 hits and 2
walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
