At Memorial Stadium the Chicago AL White Sox came in to the game in quite a tailspin, but they were able to snap their 7 game slide and outscored the Baltimore Orioles 4 to 1. Chicago AL won the game with a rally in the top of the 8th inning with 3 runs utilizing 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, Don Buford began the Chicago AL spurt when he laced a one-base hit. One out later, Floyd Robinson came to the plate and was walked intentionally. Tommy McCraw then tripled plating two runs. Harvey Haddix then tossed a pitch that the catcher mis-handled scoring the final run of the inning. Both teams ended up with 6 on the night. The winning pitcher was Billy Hoeft(1-2) who allowed no runs in 2/3 of an inning. Hoyt Wilhelm recorded the save, his 1st. The loss was charged to Haddix(3-1) in relief. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 3 runs in 2 innings.
