Kevin Tapani didn't allow a hit until the 8th inning and first baseman Kent

Hrbek blasted a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Minnesota Twins defeated the

Toronto Blue Jays in 10 innings 2 to 1 at The Skydome.

The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings.  Minnesota won the game in the

10th inning.  Dale Sveum doubled.  Stan Javier stepped into the batter's box

and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.  One out later, Hrbek came up and he lined

a single.  Chili Davis followed and he stroked a single.  Mike Timlin then

unleashed a wild pitch.  Minnesota finished with 9 hits while Toronto ended

up with 3.

Rick Aguilera(3-0) allowed no runs in 2 innings, and picked up the victory.

The right-handed Tapani lost his chance for a no-hitter when Kelly Gruber

singled with one out in the 8th inning.  The losing pitcher was Mike

Flanagan(3-2) in relief.  He gave up 1 run and 3 hits in 2/3 of an inning.

The game was decided in the 8th inning.  After an out was recorded, Jose
Vizcaino lined a one-base hit.  Calderon then stole second base.  Toronto
continued their aggressive style with another stolen base.  Alomar was up
next and he hit a sacrifice fly.  A wild and woolly affair, this game saw the
lead change 6 times.

helped out by Duane Ward who recorded his 9th save.  Mike Hartley(3-4) took
