Bobby Richardson had 2 base hits and 3 RBI and Sam McDowell reeled off a total
of 10 strikeouts as the New York AL Yankees topped the Boston Red Sox by a
score of 7 to 1 at Fenway Park.

McDowell(2-2) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the
Boston batters.  He allowed just 3 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings reducing his
ERA from 4.00 to 3.18.  New York AL had 10 hits for the night while Boston
had 4.

felt I could throw it by everybody tonight.'
