New York AL took the lead for keeps in the top of the 7th inning scoring a single run utilizing 2 base hits. For the game New York AL out-hit Boston 12 to 5. Mel Stottlemyre(4-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 innings and allowing 4 runs. Stottlemyre got relief help from Hal Reniff who gained credit for his 4th save.
