In a dramatic ending at Metropolitan Stadium the Minnesota Twins won in their
last at-bat beating the Chicago AL White Sox by the count of 3 to 2.

The game was decided in the bottom of the 9th inning.  After an out was
recorded, Zoilo Versalles doubled.  Harmon Killebrew next to the plate and he
drew a walk.  Tony Oliva then drew a walk to load the bases.  Pete Mikkelsen
then fired a sharp breaking ball that appeared to cross-up the catcher.  In
any event, it got by him and was ruled a passed ball resulting in a mighty
exciting win for Minnesota and the 46,615 home town fans in attendance.
Minnesota finished with just 5 hits in the victory.

Bill Pleis(3-1) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 inning. Mikkelsen(4-2)
took the loss in relief.  He surrendered 1 hit and 2 walks in 1/3 of an
inning.
