One out later, Albie Pearson stepped in and he tripled scoring the run. New York NL had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short. Hoyt Wilhelm(2-3) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 and 2/3 innings. Ron Locke(0-1) was the loser in relief. New York NL's manager was subdued after the ballgame, 'That one really hurts. If our guys had simply played more fundamentally sound, we could have won that one. That is what really ticks me off!'
