Expos jump on Dwight Gooden early to build a 5-0 lead. Ken Hill pitches just well enough while Mel Rojas pitches the final two innings to preserve a 6-3 Expo victory with his 42nd save. The Met defense was pretty shoddy with both the errors and some gift hits. Expos get 6 doubles out of their 11 hits.
According to my standings the Expos have a 2.5 game lead over the Cubs, four up in the loss column, with 7 games left to play.
