San Francisco started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the first when they scored 2 runs on 3 hits. That scoring would be all that was needed. Neither team managed to score after the 2nd inning. Hank Aguirre(11-4) got the win allowing 1 run in 7 and 2/3 innings. Gaylord Perry got the save, his 1st. Jim Bouton(7-10) was given the loss.
