This is EXACTLY why I require that teams netplay the playoffs. Even if they can't connect that way, I've had guys do it old school over the phone. Why the hell would you want to let your team's playoff chances controlled by Hal? What fun is that? The reason we play this (at least for me) is that you want to win, and allowing an autoplay for the playoffs just defeats the purpose.

I understand schedule conflicts etc, but this just shows why I would take more time and allow the teams to play it against one another.

Nice write up Alan. Thank you.

Yes, it would appear that my manager has both Fassero and Reuter with a max
innings per start checked. This was done to gain an extra start or two
during the regular season and it did not occur to me to change these
settings for the playoffs. I will send an updated manager separately to
address this (if I am allowed to do so).

At the end of the day I don't have a problem with using Rojas, Martinez and
Wetteland to close out a game (particularly with a six-run lead). However,
I would NEVER have allowed Rojas to bat (let alone bunt!) in the top of the
ninth with Martinez and Wetteland warming up in the pen.

Finally, I cannot control that we use the pitch-around option in our league.
I abhor this setting personally if only because I don't know what it does in
a functional sense! I do know that it will walk Pendleton in a situation
where a walk is the LAST thing you want to happen. I don't recall but can a
manager opt out of the pitch-around for a single batter???

A win is a win so I'm not complaining. This is the Expos after all and our
track record in the post season is NOT a good one.

Thank you very much!

Steve B.
