May enjoyed a big day at the plate. He doubled resulting in a run in the 4th inning, doubled clearing the bases in the 5th inning and doubled plating two runs in the 7th inning. Milwaukee simply wore out the Minnesota pitching staff, scoring in 6 different innings.

Kent Hrbek provided the offensive punch. He rifled a three-run blast in the 1st inning and slapped a one-base hit which was good for two runs in the 7th inning. Minnesota had 11 hits overall, while Milwaukee had 8.
The win was credited to Scott Erickson(1-0) who went 6 innings allowing 5 runs. Dave Stewart(0-1) was the losing pitcher. He surrendered 3 hits and 2 walks in 2/3 of an inning.

The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Minnesota Twins by a score of 6 to 3 at County Stadium.
In the 5th inning Milwaukee went on top for good scoring 2 runners on 4 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Greg Vaughn who made the crowd happy when he hit a single scoring two baserunners. Milwaukee ended up with 12 hits for the game while Minnesota had 6.
The victory went to Pete Smith(1-1) who went 7 and 2/3 innings, allowing 3 runs. Smith got help from Mike Fetters who was credited with his 2nd save. Pat Mahomes(0-1) was hit with the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 9 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.
