At Municipal Stadium the Kansas City A's outscored the Chicago AL White Sox 5
to 2.

Kansas City had the winning rally in the 8th inning scoring 3 runs utilizing 4
base hits.  Dick Allen kicked off the action when he drew a walk.  Leon
Wagner stepped into the batter's box and he doubled.  After an out was
recorded, Al Spangler came up and he was hit by a pitch.  Dick Green followed
and he ripped a base-knock scoring two baserunners.  One out later, Clay
Dalrymple stepped up to the plate and he lashed a single scoring the final
run of the inning.  Kansas City had 11 hits for the game and Chicago AL had
6.

The win was credited to Joe Sparma(6-3) who went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no
runs. Ron Taylor(1-3) ended up with the loss in relief.  By giving up 3 runs
in 1 and 2/3 innings his ERA increased from 4.28 to 4.75.

Joel Horlen tossed a complete game at Municipal Stadium as the Chicago AL
White Sox belted the Kansas City A's by the count of 16 to 2.

Ron Hansen enjoyed a fine day at the plate.  He slapped a base-hit in the 1st
inning, stroked a single which scored a run in the 7th inning and caught a
hold of a bad pitch for a Grand Slam homerun (his 28th of the season) in the
7th inning.  Chicago AL provided plenty of action in the 7th inning which saw
them plate 10 runs on 8 hits.  Chicago AL had a total of 21 hits for the
game.

Horlen(14-7) was the winner allowing 2 runs for the game. The losing pitcher
was Diego Segui(13-12).  He gave up 8 hits and 1 walk in 5 innings.
