Right fielder Joe Carter knocked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Juan Guzman tossed a complete game as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Minnesota Twins 15 to 6 at The Skydome.
Carter was really 'in the zone'. He doubled scoring two baserunners in the 1st inning, hit a bases-empty home run in the 2nd inning, slapped a single which plated a run in the 4th inning and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 6th inning. Toronto lit up the scoreboard in the 1st inning which saw them score 7 runs on 7 hits and the 4th inning when they had 4 runs on 3 hits. Toronto had many opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings.
Guzman(3-2) was the winner allowing 6 runs for the game. Pat Mahomes(0-3) took the loss. He allowed 11 hits and 4 walks in 4 innings.
