Previous message                 Next message Message #: 30730 Message from: Michael Tomeo Sent: Jun 29, 2014 Subject: REMINDER - naming files Alan and I have sent out reminders about naming files properly but several of you are not doing so. I've been meaning to send this reminder for awhile but the fact that all 4 files sent thisweek so far are incorrect finally got me to send this. The majority of you are (and have been) naming files properly but there is 1/4 to 1/3 of you that have not. This is directly from the instruction page, which can be found on the right hand side of the main league page, under other info. There will be two files (one for the home team and one forthe road team) in the EXPORT folder for each game you play.If you cleaned out this folder prior to theseries, the only files in the folder will be ones pertaining to the series youjust played. The boxscores will be in the PRINT/1968SL folder along with the PBP files.Zip all files for a single series into one file, which should be called XXXYYYzz, where XXX is thevisiting team's 3 character code, YYY is the home team's 3 character code, andzz is the day of the FIRST game of the series. For example, if Pittsburgh is at San Francisco on days 125,126 & 127, the results should be zipped into a file called PINSFN25.ZIP(drop the leading 1 from the day when necessary). Using the above pin-sfn example, the file SHOULD NOT be named 1) pinsfn 2) pinsfnweek20 (or whatever week) 3) pinresults 4) pinsfn27 (use first not last game of series) 5) pittsf   or any variation than the 3 letter team code used in the game. (if not sure go to the standings page and the codes are right next to the team names) 6) pinsfngameresults 7) I think there are a couple other variations of naming that show up from time to time. If you name the files properly when you save the game, it makes it very easy to zip them. Highlight all the files you wish to zip and then right click on the first game (sfnpin25 in this example) and the zipfile will also have that name. This may seem like a minor thing but we have over 25 seasons of results saved now. If files are named properly, it makes it so much easier to find it if we need to go back for whatever reason.
