Marlins win 3 of 4 games.
Worthy to note that Jeff Conine hit homeruns the first 3 times he came to the plate against Pedro Martinez (Rolls of 5-5 [HR 1-17 or triple], 5-5 again and 2-4). In his fourth at bat against Jeff Juden he nailed his “2” column again but the roll of “2-2“ was only good for a single. In Conine’s fifth and final at bat against Tavo Alvarez he once again nailed his “2” column. The “2-5” roll was home run 1-2 or double. HAL pulled a “3” and Conine just missed his fourth home run and baseball immortality. As it is, Conine finished 5 for 5 with 5 RBI, 4 runs scored and 15 total bases. Jack McDowell’s 3-hit shutout (and 19th win) in the same game got lost in all the noise of Conine’s bat.
