I truly offensive series that settled nothing as the teams split the 4 games. The Sox and O's combined for 60 runs on 99 hits with 12 errors and left 70 men on base (Boston "winning" 38-32).

game 1: Sox jump out to big early lead and then try to give the game away. 4 straight one out singles plated 2 runs for the Sox in the opening frame. Alomar led off the O's first with a double and scored to cut the lead in half. In the 2nd Bragg had an rbi double and scampered all the home as Brumfield threw wildly back into the infield. Vaughn added a 2 run homer later in the inning. Sox added single runs in the 3rd and 4th to open a 8-1 lead. O's got 4 singles (2 of them x play singles) and a 2 base error in the 4th to score 3 times. They O's got single runs in the 6th,7th and 9th to make the final 8-7

game 2: Jefferson homered in the first to again put Boston on the board early. O's came back with a 5 spot in the bottom of the inning all after the first 2 batters went down quickly. Surhoff hit a 3 run homer and Ripken reached on an error. That was followed by a double and single to cap the inning. Boston bounced right back as the first 7 Sox hitters (2 2b, 2 bb, a single, single+error and hbp) reached to tie the game. A dp grounder gave Boston the lead and took them out of an even bigger inning. Surhoff struck again in the 2nd, this time a 2 run double to put Baltimore back on top. A Valentin sac fly in the 3rd tied it up. Greenwell hit a 2 run homer in the 5th to give Boston a short lead. After Ripken reached on a single+error, Lockhart homered to tie it up in the bottom of the inning. In the 8th, Baltimore got the winning run on a double, wild pitch and yet another x play single and held on for the 10-9 win.

game 3: A game after finding the one out in a sea of hits multiple times, the Sox spent most of this game finding their empty columns or missing the 1-10 bp single. Baltimore had no such problems as they were 6-6 on bp singles. Sele took the death by 1000 paper cuts as he went the distance and allowed 16 hits in the 9-2 O's win.

game 4: For the 3rd time in 4 games Boston came out swinging, scoring in each of the first 4 innings, opening up a 9-0 lead. Otero's 2 base error led to 2 unearned runs in the first. Bragg hit a 2 run homer in the 2nd and McCarty homered leading off the 3rd. Vaughn's 2 run homer capped a 4 run 4th. The O's mounted a comeback in the 4th and 5th, scoring twice in both innings. A bases loaded hbp and ground out brought in the runs in the 4th and Otero had an rbi double and scored in the 5th. Frye had an rbi double and scored in the 8th to complete the scoring in the 11-4 win.
