Sox defeated the New York AL Yankees by the score of 6 to 1 at Comiskey
Park.
 
Gary Peters(5-1) pitched a fine game.  He surrendered 6 hits and no walks in 6
and 2/3 innings.  Chicago AL out-hit New York AL for the game, 9 hits to 6.

two-run shot (his 2nd of the season) in the 4th inning and lined a single
bringing in two baserunners in the 5th inning.  Chicago AL totaled 9 on the
night. 
 
Joel Horlen(1-0) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory.

Albie Pearson connected with a 'big fly' and had 2 RBI at Comiskey Park as the
Chicago AL White Sox beat the New York AL Yankees 3 to 1.
 
In the bottom of the 3rd inning Chicago AL went on top for good scoring one
runner using 3 hits.  After an out was recorded, Pearson cracked a solo
homerun (his 3rd of the season).  That was all the offense they were to need.
Hoyt Wilhelm was perfect in relief and got the save, his 6th. 
 
Jack Kralick(2-2) went 7 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. Ralph
Terry(2-3) was the losing pitcher.  He surrendered 3 runs and 8 hits in 7
innings. 
 
This win by Chicago AL continues their recent hot streak.  In their last ten
