In an entertaining game at Wrigley Field the final score was the Chicago NL Cubs 7, the Montreal Expos 4.
Chris Haney(1-0) slammed the door shut in an excellent relief performance. He did not allow a baserunner in his 1 and 1/3 innings. Terry Adams was great in relief and recorded his 1st save.
Ted Lilly(0-1) took the loss in relief. He pitched 1 inning giving up 3 hits and 1 walk. For Chicago NL the victory was a welcome one, indeed. They had been struggling in their last ten games with a disappointing 2-8 record. Montreal continued their losing ways and their record is now 7-6. They are 2-8 in their last ten games.
