Teams alternate wins in the split. After a 3-4 opener to the week against Oakland. Nomar goes 2-18 the rest of the week and sits at .402 for the year. This may be the latest anyone has been over .400 in a season.

Some statistical oddities for Boston after 99 games. They have blown one save all year (6 different players have a save). Jose Offerman has 12 triples. Boston has allowed 13 all year. Roberto Hernandez allowed his first runs of the year against Oakland and sports an era of 0.26 in 34.2 innings.

game 1: Boston opens the game with 2b-1b-1b but can only score 1 run. In the 2nd Boston sent 5 men to the plate and 4 of them drew splits. The best of the splits was a 17 as they managed 2 singles. They double the lead in the 3rd on a Sorrento home run. In the 4th, I accidently hit no on sending a 1-18 runner to score and he would get stranded. Baltimore gets on the board in the 4th, thanks to a single+error by the pitcher Lorraine. In the 6th, Baltimore uses 3 walks, 2 doubles and a triple to score 4 times to take the lead. That would be all the scoring as Baltimore wins 5-2 as Boston strands 12.

game 2: Bichette had an rbi single in the first but Boston left the bases loaded. Baltimore tied in with an unearned run in the 3rd. Offerman had an rbi triple and scored on an error in the 4th to put Boston back on top. Nixon had a 2 run single in the 5th and Boston scored 2 more in the 6th to go up 7-1. 2 wild pitches by Pedro helped Baltimore score 2 in the 7th but it was too little, too late. Mike Stanley may have set a record as he went 0-0 in the game with 5 walks (the rest of the team got2). Boston left 12 more on in this game.

game 3: Baltimore got 2 runs in the first (one unearned) as Sadler made his 3rd error in 10 innings (and 3rd of the year). Anderson got hit by a pitch and then ended up on third as his stolen base splits were a 1 and 2(for the throwing error). He then scored on a sac fly. He then homered (on a split of 1) in the 4th to make it 4-0. Nixon hit a 2 run homer in the 8th to get Boston on the board, but again, too little, too late. Sox managed to leave just 9 on base this game.

game 4: In a reversal of fortunes, Baltimore made 3 errors and left 15 on base in a losing cause. O's struck in the first as Anderson was hit by a pitch to start the game and scored on a 2 out x play double. In the 4th, Sorrento opened the inning by reaching on on error. Bichette followed with a 2 run homer. 2 outs later, Varitek homered. Baltimore got a run in the bottom of the inning on a double play grounder but that would be the scoring. Baltimore had 2 on in every inning from the 5th on but couldn't score.
