Subject: **** results of New York @ Baltimore ****

AUGUST 29

Phil Regan(8-8) and Ralph Terry(20-10) locked horns in a pitcher's duel with
Regan and the Baltimore Orioles coming out on top of the New York AL Yankees
4 to 0.

New York AL surrendered all of the runs Baltimore needed in the 2nd inning
scoring 4 runners on 4 hits.  The early run support proved sufficient for
Regan and Baltimore.  That was all the run support Regan required.  Neither
team managed to score after the 2nd inning.

Dick Drott recorded the save, his 3rd.

In a two run game the Baltimore Orioles got by the New York AL Yankees by the
score of 4 to 2.

Baltimore came up with 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning.  After an out
was recorded, Jackie Brandt started the attack as he delivered a solo blast
(his 13th of the season).  Robin Roberts came next and he drew a walk.  Luis
Aparicio then doubled.  Al Downing then had one get away for a wild pitch
plating another run.  Chuck Hinton stepped into the box and hit a sacrifice
fly scoring the final run of the inning.  The early run support proved
sufficient for Roberts(14-13) and Baltimore.  That was all the run support
Roberts required.  Baltimore had only 6 hits for the afternoon.

Dick Hall earned the save, his 21st.  Downing(11-10) was charged with the
loss.  Despite losing, he struckout 9 Baltimore batters in 6 innings.
