Bob, Here are some answers: "1. Since Boxscore, PAC and Scoresheet create three separate files, for is the naming convention for each of these (the instructions only indicate a naming convention for the box score)." The "boxscore" file (the one we give the name to) actually ends up containing all 3 elements, so it is the only .PRT you need to send for each game. That's why we don't worry about what the names for the other .PRT files are (which end up as BOX____ and PAC_____, I think). "2. If you allow HAL to pick the starter for you, how does HAL keep track of the starters used for both home and away? How does HAL insure that a starter used in the home series rested enough to start again in the away series?" Since home/road series are played "independently", it doesn't matter if (for example) the same SP started on Day 3 (the last game of the first series) and Day 4 (the first game of the second series), because those series' were played in different locations. This is why - beginning in Week 2 - before every ROAD series we play, we must give the HOME team (and ONLY the home team) 5 days off, in order to "reset" their pitchers. "3. The instructions state to choose the appropriate lineup for the home team (vs lefty, vs righty) but doesn't HAL already pick the lineup for you? I use lineup #3 for reverse Lefties and Lineup #4 for reverse Righties and Hal always picks the right one to use. I wouldn't want a manager to use lineup #1 when Hal picks lineup #3. For those of you who are not familiar with this feature, lineup #3 is the default lineup for a reverse lefty starter and lineup #4 is the default lineup for a reverse righty." Yes, HAL does pick the appropriate lineup for the Home team based on the Road pitcher - and he looks at all 4 lineups. The instructions which state to make sure the correct lineup is selected for the Home team is meant for the case where the Road manager decides NOT to go with the starter HAL suggests for him. When the Road manager selects an alternate starter, HAL does NOT update the Home lineup accordingly (AFAIK), therefore it's up to the Road manager to make sure the Home team's lineup is the proper one of the four.
