Subject: Present Issues - Cubs Opinion

Alan / Mike

a.    You guys are doing a great job keeping this league interesting and moving forward.

b.    With regard to the Home record vs Away record, I will leave that to your judgement.  I have not had a competitive
team as long as I have been in this league so I cannot say there is an issue I have experienced..  Typically my team
is worse on the road then at home(which means I am a bad game manager).

I would be disappointed if we started simulating the games.

c.    With regard to trading, I support the move on draft picks.  However, the issue of trading beyond that gets murky.  One
of the things I find interesting about Strat leagues is the challenge of trying to build a winner.  I realize that teams
could be buddy - buddy for trades.  I think the review process you have in place with the commissioner office works.
The Cubs had 1 trade questioned last year and it was negotiated and ultimately approved.

My suggestion is you have a majority vote system on trades with the commissioners office having a vote, and
one representative for the AL and NL being part of the review.  The NL person and AL person would change at the
all star break.  There would be an alternate for each(in the event they are involved in a trade) and you and Mike would
be alternate(one of you should be primary) for the commish office since you might be involved in trades.

In the instance of the commish office running a team, the above scenario would still work, however the person
not running the team(you or mike) could not approve the trade.  Even simpler, teams being run by the commish
    office cannot make trades.

In this scenario, all trades would be sent to commish office as a proposal and the majority decision of the NL rep, AL rep and
commish would be final and binding.  Teams with rejected trades would have 1 chance to make it acceptable without
guidance from the commish office.  However, they would receive feedback as to why the trade looks "unbalanced".

This takes the pressure off of you and Mike to be baby sitters of the league, however it does allow teams to try to build.

d.    This league is a great deal of fun for me and I wish to keep things positive.  Let's talk about this, make a decision
and get on with the games.

Best regards,

Alan Bosslet(Chicago Cubs).
