April 20 Ty Cline had 2 base hits as the New York AL Yankees beat the Kansas City A's by a score of 5 to 4. New York AL scored the deciding run in the 9th inning. After two outs Dale Long delivered a solo blast (his 1st of the season). New York AL had 10 hits for the game and Kansas City had 7. Tex Clevenger(1-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing 1 run. Clevenger got relief help from Bob Turley who gained credit for his 1st save.
