As stated in the memo on starters, a pitcher is limited to 41 starts unless he actually started more than that. In the case of wilbur wood, he would be able to start 46, 49 etc since he actually did in that case
Anyone related as a reliever has no limitations other than the innings pitched. AS far as a starter who never relieved, i'm not sure which way to go on that. This is a situation to deal with in the early years as most of us have excess starting pitching but is something that should take care of itself down the line as baseball moves into the era of the specialist. Any opinions? Obviously we are trying to keep it as accurate as possible, within reason, but we don't want teams to carry 10 good starters only and use 5 of them as relievers.
