MAY 15 Bill Skowron rocketed 2 homeruns as the New York AL Yankees topped the Boston Red Sox by a score of 5 to 3 at Fenway Park. New York AL came up with 2 runs in the top of the 2nd inning when they had 3 base hits. They would hold up as the winning runs. Boston was out-hit by New York AL, 12 hits to 5. Gonzalez enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He delivered a single in the 2nd inning, popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 8th of the season) in the 3rd inning and singled scoring a run in the 7th inning. New York AL proved to be no trouble in the 9th. McDaniel(2-1) was the winner allowing no runs in 3 innings. Ralph Terry(6-4) ended up with the loss. He allowed Boston 8 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings of work.
