JULY 28 Johnny Blanchard blasted 2 homeruns as the New York AL Yankees
outscored the Chicago AL White Sox in 10 innings 4 to 2. The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. New York AL
won it in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Tom Tresh initiated the scoring spurt when he lined a base-hit. Bobby Richardson followed and he delivered a single. Dale Long then delivered a single scoring a run. Elston Howard stepped in and he would ground out scoring the final run of the inning. Chicago AL had 13 hits in the game while New York AL had 10, but New York AL had the more timely hits. The winning pitcher was Jim Bouton(7-4) who allowed no runs in 2
innings. Ryne Duren got the save, his 8th. Turk Lown(4-3) was hit with the loss in relief. New York AL now has a record of 53-61. With the loss, the
