AUGUST 22

First baseman Dale Long cracked a homer as the streaking New York AL Yankees
topped the Minnesota Twins by a score of 3 to 2 at Metropolitan
Stadium.

Ralph Terry(17-11) earned his pay with a solid performance for New York AL.
He allowed 6 hits and no walks in 8 innings and allowed 2 gopher balls.  New
York AL had 11 hits overall, while Minnesota had 6.

Terry got help from Ryne Duren who was credited with his 13th save.  Cal
McLish(5-9) absorbed the loss.  He gave up 10 hits and no walks in 8 innings.

No one has been able to stop New York AL lately as they lengthened their
winning streak to 7 games.
