AUGUST 29 41,189 fans watched an exciting game at Memorial Stadium. The Baltimore Orioles topped the New York AL Yankees by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4. The score was tied at 4 after nine. Baltimore won the game in the 10th inning. Jim Gentile doubled. Brooks Robinson was the next batter, but he struck out. Jackie Brandt then doubled giving Baltimore the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy. Although they lost, New York AL did out-hit Baltimore 11 to 8. Tom Sturdivant(7-3) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Ryne Duren(2-3) was hit with the loss in relief. He gave up 1 run and 2 hits in 1 inning.
