Frank Bolling had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Don Mossi pitched a complete game
shutout as the dominant Detroit Tigers defeated the New York AL Yankees by
the score of 4 to 0 at Tiger Stadium.
 
Mossi(13-6) simply dominated New York AL.  He was stingy on the mound,
allowing just 5 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.  Detroit managed 10 in their
victory. 
 
Whitey Ford(18-5) was hit with the loss.  He surrendered 10 hits and 2 walks
in 8 innings.

The phenomenal Detroit Tigers edged the New York AL Yankees at Tiger Stadium
by the score of 7 to 6.
 
Bennie Daniels(9-5) was lucky to get the win as he struggled out there
tonight.  He gave up 6 runs, 14 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings.  New York AL
had 14 hits in the game while Detroit had 9, but Detroit had the more timely
hits. 
 
Terry Fox earned his 18th save.  Jerry Walker(6-7) was tagged with the loss.
He surrendered 7 runs in 5 innings and saw his ERA increase from 3.48 to
3.84.

The mighty Detroit Tigers toppled the New York AL Yankees by a 12 to 8 score
at Tiger Stadium.
 
Frank Bolling helped send the fans home happy.  He doubled plating two runs in
the 2nd inning and cracked a two-run shot (his 10th of the season) in the 5th
inning.  Detroit finished with 13 hits in the victory. 
 
The victory went to Jim Bunning(14-7) who went 6 and 2/3 innings, allowing 8
runs. The losing pitcher was Ralph Terry(8-11).  His ERA ballooned from 3.60
to 3.97 as he allowed 7 runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.

Eddie Matthews had 3 base hits at Tiger Stadium as the powerful Detroit Tigers
won a thriller over the New York AL Yankees in, 3 to 2.
 
Detroit won the game with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning.  After an out
was recorded, Rocky Colavito slapped a one-base hit.  One out later, Matthews
came to the plate and delivered a base-hit.  Earl Averill then drew a walk to
load the bases.  Reno Bertoia was up next and he delivered a base-hit making
Detroit the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration.  Detroit had
a total of 8 hits for the game. 
 
The victory went to Bob Friend(13-4) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs. The
losing pitcher was Luis Arroyo(3-5) in relief.  He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings
allowing 5 hits and 1 walk.
