A spokesman for Harmon Killebrew has just told the Minneapolis Tribune that
the Killer feels partially vindicated for the snub he felt he received in not
being originally named AL MVP in 1969 and 1970. While Killebrew understands
the league uses a formula to determine the MVP, he strongly believes his stats
were greater than that of Mr. Boog Powell who received the 1970 award.
Meanwhile, Killebrew plans to file a claim with the Twins for a bonus he now
says is due to him under his old contract with the Twins for winning the MVP
in 69. Twins owner Rick Ramacier could not reached for comment by the Tribune.
