Haddix(1-1) was very good in the win. He didn't allow much, just 6 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings lowering his ERA from 1.29 to 0.56. Boston rapped out 14 hits for the afternoon. Bill Fischer(0-1) was given the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 12 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings. Boston never recovered after New York AL took the lead in the 2nd inning scoring a single run utilizing 2 base hits.
