Banks had a great day at the plate. He had the crowd cheering his every move. He lofted a three-run bomb in the 1st inning, stroked a base-hit resulting in a run in the 3rd inning, blasted a solo shot in the 5th inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his 10th of the season) in the 7th inning. Overall Chicago NL out-hit New York NL 15 to 6. Bill Hands(2-2) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. The losing pitcher was Jack Fisher(1-7).
