Subject: White Sox take 3 of 4 from Yanks - Week 8 CM included

A one-hitter for Tommy John and a 9th inning pinch-hit game winning home run for Pete Ward are the most dramatic moments of the series.  Joel Horlen begins talking to his lawyer about a non-support lawsuit.

Tommy McCraw smacked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Chicago AL White Sox won
in dramatic fashion over the New York AL Yankees by a score of 8 to 6 at
Yankee Stadium.

Chicago AL scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning when they tallied 4
runs on 4 hits. The highlight belonged to Pete Ward who quieted the crowd
when he popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 5th of the season).
Chicago AL rapped out 11 hits for the afternoon.

The victory went to Don McMahon(3-1) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs.
McMahon was helped out by Hoyt Wilhelm who recorded his 6th save. Dooley
Womack(1-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. He served up 3 homeruns in his
2/3 of an inning.

Billy Vanson was not very talkative after his team's tough loss. 'I'm not in
the mood for questions, but I'm sure Jon Fellows will be glad to talk about
the game as long as you have questions to ask.'
