AUGUST 14 Jim Coates came through with a solid 7 innings at Fenway Park as the New York AL Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox by the count of 5 to 0. Coates(4-5) was very good in the win. He gave up just 3 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings. Coates chalked up 8 strikeouts reducing his ERA from 4.24 to 3.82. New York AL finished with 11 hits while Boston ended up with 5.
