Al Oliver had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates outscored the
Montreal Expos 6 to 5.

The Montreal fans didn't appreciate the big day Oliver had. He smashed a
two-run homer (his 2nd of the season) in the 1st inning, stroked a single
scoring a run in the 3rd inning, tripled bringing in a run in the 6th inning
and lined a one-base hit in the 8th inning. Montreal had a chance in the 9th
but they came up short.

Bob Moose(3-1) was the winner allowing 1 run in 7 innings. Moose got help from
Dave Giusti who earned his 5th save. Roric Harrison(0-4) was given the loss.

When questioned about the loss, Steve Bivens said, 'The fans got to see an
exciting game out there tonight. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it done this
time. Next time, though, we'll be the clubhouse with all the smiles.'

Jim Rooker had a strong outing as the Pittsburgh Pirates topped the Montreal
Expos by a score of 2 to 1 at Jarry Park.

Ramon Hernandez(2-0) did the job in relief, and he got credit for the win. He
surrendered 3 hits and no walks in 2 innings. The game was a scoreless duel
until the 8th inning.

Dave Giusti was credited with his 6th save. Chuck Taylor(0-2) was hit with
