One run was the difference at Busch Stadium as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated
the St. Louis Cardinals 6 to 5.
Luke Walker(2-2) got the win but did not look specatacular. He gave up 10
hits and 3 walks in 6 innings. Pittsburgh had a total of 10 hits for the
game.
Walker got help from Dave Giusti who earned his 8th save. Milt Pappas(3-1)
was hit with the loss. 'I didn't have my best stuff but sometimes you just
get lucky,' Walker said, 'this was one of those times.'

First baseman Deron Johnson launched 2 homeruns at Busch Stadium where the St.

Pittsburgh was unable to recover after St. Louis went ahead in the bottom of
the 2nd inning when they tallied 4 runs on 4 hits. That was all the runs Bob
