April 27 Gil McDougald connected with a 'big fly' and had 2 RBI and Whitey Ford delivered 7 solid innings at Comiskey Park as the New York AL Yankees beat the Chicago AL White Sox by the count of 10 to 2. New York AL tallied 3 runs in the top of the 2nd inning. That early run support was enough for Ford(2-3) and New York AL. New York AL out-hit Chicago AL for the game, 15 hits to 7. Billy Pierce(2-1) ended up with the loss. By giving up 6 runs in 6 innings his ERA increased from 1.85 to 2.40. 'Ahhh, that victory was surely needed.
