Subject: Brewers @ Texas

The Brewers take 2 of 3 in a series that featured very little pitching. The last game was not even as close as the score would suggest, the Brewers manager was trying to get Torrez a complete game and left him in trying to get that final out even though Torrez was WAY over on his pitch count. You see the result. I also heard a report that LOU was at the game, but did not actually see him myself. hehe

Cesar Cedeno smacked 2 homeruns and scored 3 times at Arlington Stadium as the
Milwaukee Brewers beat the Texas Rangers by the count of 7 to 4.

Cedeno provided the offensive punch. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park
in the 1st inning and blasted a solo shot (his 15th of the season) in the 3rd
inning. Milwaukee had many opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6
separate innings.

George Stone(6-6) went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Steve
Barber earned his 11th save. Nolan Ryan(9-13) ended up with the loss. He
allowed 3 homeruns in 7 innings of work.

The win by Milwaukee is a very welcome one as they have been struggling in
recent days. Their record now stands at 39-46 - only 2-8 in their last ten
games. With this loss, Texas has a 5-5 record of late, 31-54, worst in the
division overall.
