Joe Morgan cracked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Riverfront Stadium where the
Cincinnati Reds beat the Pittsburgh Pirates by the score of 8 to 4.

Morgan provided much of the offense. He hit a bases-empty home run in the 3rd
inning, stroked a single in the 7th inning and lifted one out of the park for
a two run home run (his 16th of the season) in the 8th inning. Offensively,
Cincinnati was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings.

Don Gullett(14-2) went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory.
Pedro Borbon earned his 4th save. The loss was charged to Dock Ellis(13-6).
He was touched for 9 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings.
