I believe that Super Hal doesn't look at usage when making a selection where
regular Hal does. I had trouble adjusting Super Hal when playing entire
seasons automatically with Smiley 68 but when I didn't use Super Hal the
usage came out the way I wanted it. So for example I have two hard righties
in Akers and Sprague and I just want both of them to pitch about the same
number of innings and to not face lefties. Ignoring Super Hal I just flip
the Avoid Lefties, Quick Hook and Max 1-2 innings check boxes and the usage
magically comes out right. Messing with Super Hal kept giving me one guy
pitching much more than the other.
I think that Super Hal could help a team with radically different relief
pitchers that is willing to program it for each opponent every week.
SuperHal does distinguish between left handed batters that hit well vs LHP
and left handed batters that hit well vs RHP. But for a team like the A's
who wants Lindblad to face only lefties, Akers and Sprague to face righties,
Sequi to close out games, and Krausse to set up the save I don't see any
advantage to using Super Hal.

Hi Guys
I have had very good experience with Super Hal. As long as it is
programmed properly (no missing situations) then it works perfect for what
it
is designed to do. What people get messed up on is that they have to realize
the only thinkg Super Hal is doing is letting you makre out the pecking
order
to being in a reliever WHEN HAL DECIDES TO REMOVE THE PITCHER. So the avoid
lefty/righty, quick hook, etc settings still need to be set to help HAL
decide when.
That being said, I am not using Super Hal in SMILEY this year as my
team
sucks and using him "might" get me a couple of extra wins at best. Next
year,
when I hope to be competitive I will most certainly be using him.
