Tony Kubek had 5 hits at Fenway Park as the New York AL Yankees embarrassed
the Boston Red Sox by the lopsided score of 12 to 2.

Boston never recovered after New York AL took the lead in the 3rd inning when
they scored 3 runs on 2 hits.  That early scoring was all that Art
Ditmar(6-1) needed.  Ditmar was helped out by Ryne Duren who pitched a
perfect ninth and recorded his 20th save.

Ray Semproch(9-9) suffered the loss.  He surrendered 4 runs and 7 hits in 7
innings.

Larry Doby rocketed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the New York AL Yankees topped
the Boston Red Sox by a score of 11 to 6 at Fenway Park.

Doby had a good evening at the plate.  He bombed a two-run dinger in the 2nd
inning, cracked a two-run shot (his 13th of the season) in the 4th inning and
slapped a one-base hit in the 5th inning.  New York AL had many opportunities
throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings.

Vinegar Bend Mizell(6-9) got the win allowing 1 run in 7 innings. Tom
Brewer(8-8) took the loss.  He allowed 3 homeruns in 3 innings of work.
