august 24 In a two run game the strong New York AL Yankees scored 4 runs in the 7th inning and got by the Detroit Tigers by the score of 5 to 3. In the top of the 7th inning New York AL scored 4 runs when they had 3 base hits. The critical plate appearance was by Leon Wagner who silenced Briggs Stadium as he blasted a two-run home run (his 20th of the season). New York AL finished with just 5 hits in the victory.
