April 6 Mickey Mantle had 2 base hits at Municipal Stadium as the New York AL Yankees beat the Kansas City A's 6 to 3. New York AL took the lead for good in the top of the 2nd inning scoring one runner on 3 hits. New York AL had 12 hits for the night. Tom Sturdivant(1-0) got the win allowing 2 runs in 7 innings.
