With the crowd on their collective feet, screaming at the top of their lungs,
Chicago AL White Sox rallied to top New York AL Yankees by the score of 4 to
3.

Chicago AL scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning with 2 runs using 2
hits.  Whitey Lockman got things going when he slapped a base-hit.  Beard
stole second with some aggressive base running.  Hobie Landrith then was hit
by a pitch.  George Strickland stepped in and he drew a walk to load the
bases.  Ron Northey stepped into the box and hit a deep fly scoring a run.
Earl Torgeson struck out, unable to help the rally.  Nellie Fox was next and
he laced a base-knock giving Chicago AL the victory and sending the 49,407
home-town fans home happy.  Chicago AL and New York AL each finished the
night with 6 hits.

The win went to Seth Morehead(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2/3 of an inning.
Bob Grim(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief.  He surrendered 2 runs and 2 hits
in 2/3 of an inning.
