April 10 With the crowd on their collective feet, screaming at the top of their lungs, Chicago AL White Sox rallied to top New York AL Yankees by the score of 4 to 3. Chicago AL scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning with 2 runs using 2 hits. Whitey Lockman got things going when he slapped a base-hit. Beard stole second with some aggressive base running. Hobie Landrith then was hit by a pitch. George Strickland stepped in and he drew a walk to load the bases. Ron Northey stepped into the box and hit a deep fly scoring a run. Earl Torgeson struck out, unable to help the rally. Nellie Fox was next and he laced a base-knock giving Chicago AL the victory and sending the 49,407 home-town fans home happy. Chicago AL and New York AL each finished the night with 6 hits. The win went to Seth Morehead(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2/3 of an inning. Bob Grim(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief. He surrendered 2 runs and 2 hits in 2/3 of an inning.
