Third baseman Andy Carey cracked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Boston Red
Sox outscored the New York AL Yankees 8 to 3.

Carey helped send the fans home happy.  He lifted one out of the park for a
two run home run in the 4th inning and lofted a three-run 'big-fly' (his 2nd
of the season) in the 5th inning.  Boston totaled 13 on the night.

Billy O'Dell(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing
no runs. Whitey Ford(3-1) ended up with the loss.  He was unable to control
the Boston offense and allowed 9 hits and 4 walks in 5 innings.
