Tony Oliva had 2 base hits at Metropolitan Stadium as the Minnesota Twins
pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the woeful New York AL Yankees by the
count of 4 to 2.

Minnesota had the game winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning with 3
runs using 2 hits.  After an out was recorded, Zoilo Versalles began the
Minnesota spurt when he drew a walk.  Jimmie Hall came next and he lined a
single.  After another out, Rich Reese came up and he smacked a three-run
homer (his 1st of the season) making Minnesota the victors to the delight of
the home town faithful.  The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until
the 8th inning.

The victory went to Ron Kline(2-2) who went 1/3 of an inning, allowing no
runs. Dooley Womack(3-5) absorbed the loss in relief.  The Minnesota
ballclub's record now stands at 60-62.  With the loss, the New York AL
ballclub's record is 43-79, worst in the division.

the Minnesota Twins beat the hapless New York AL Yankees by the count of 4 to
2.

after the 4th inning.

Jim Kaat(11-7) went 8 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Al Worthington
earned the save, his 25th.  The loss was charged to Al Downing(6-14).
