Frank Duffy lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 3 RBI as the Montreal
Expos defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates in 10 innings by the score of 10 to 9
at JARRY PARK.
The score was tied at 9 after nine. Montreal ended up winning it in the 10th
inning. Bob Bailey singled. Barry Foote came to the plate and laid down a
sacrifice bunt. One out later, Ted Sizemore stepped in and he doubled
resulting in an exciting win for Montreal and a raucous post-game celebration
by the home town fans. This was a game of many highs and lows for the home
town fans, as the lead kept changing - 6 times in all.
Dale Murray(1-1) allowed no runs in 2 innings, and picked up the victory.
Ramon Hernandez(0-2) ended up with the loss in relief.

Center fielder Willie Davis had 3 base hits and 4 RBI at JARRY PARK as the
Montreal Expos beat the Pittsburgh Pirates by the count of 7 to 4.
Montreal scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning when they had 4 base
hits. The highlight belonged to Davis who made the Montreal fans a happy lot
when he lined a one-base hit bringing in two baserunners. Montreal rapped

Third baseman Mike Schmidt blasted a homerun and had 3 RBI at JARRY PARK as
the Montreal Expos beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 5 to 1.
Montreal scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning. The big moment was
provided by Schmidt who excited the crowd when he cracked a two-run shot (his
24th of the season). Montreal had 14 hits overall, while Pittsburgh had 9.
The win was credited to Steve Renko(3-4) who went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing 1
run. Renko got relief help from Woodie Fryman who gained credit for his 1st
save. Jim Rooker(7-6) was the loser. He was hit hard and gave up 13 hits
and 2 walks in 7 innings.

one-base hit. Ted Sizemore came to the plate and laid down a sacrifice bunt.
Bailey then popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 9th of the season).
That was all the runs Wood(6-5) needed. Montreal had 12 hits for the
afternoon.
Jerry Reuss(5-5) was the loser. He was touched for 9 hits and 2 walks in 6
innings. The winning ways continue for Montreal. They now have a record of
