Kennedy enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He caught a hold of a bad pitch for a Grand Slam homerun (his 1st of the season) in the 6th inning, laced a base-hit in the 8th inning and slapped a single in the 9th inning. New York AL and Kansas City each finished the night with 6 hits. Talbot(5-8) went the distance for the shutout. Bo Belinsky(1-3) ended up with the loss. He allowed just 4 runs and 2 hits in 5 innings. 'After the stretch we have been through lately, this victory is especially sweet' offered Billy Vanson. Now, we just have to make this the norm - not the exception!'
