Tony Perez blasted a homerun at RIVERFRONT STADIUM where the Cincinnati Reds
beat the Pittsburgh Pirates in 11 innings by the score of 2 to 1.
The game was deadlocked at 1 after nine full innings. Cincinnati ended up
winning it in the 11th inning. Joe Morgan drew a walk. Perez stepped up
next and he stroked a single. After an out was recorded, Bill Plummer
stepped up to the plate and he delivered a one-base hit making Cincinnati the
winners and sending the 40,867 fans home happy. Cincinnati finished with 9
hits while Pittsburgh ended up with 5.
The win went to Pedro Borbon(6-2) who allowed no runs in 4 innings. Gene
