Atlanta came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 9th inning scoring 3 runs utilizing 4 base hits. Denis Menke kicked off the action when he stroked a one-base hit. Bud Harrelson came to the plate and slapped a base-hit. Mack Jones then hit a single to load the bases. Bill White came up and he rifled a three-run blast (his 14th of the season). San Francisco went down without a fight in the bottom of the 9th. The victory went to Tom Seaver(10-13) who went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs. Seaver was helped out by Dick Radatz who recorded his 2nd save. Frank Linzy(5-4) took the loss in relief. 'We just kept swinging the bats and didn't give up,' Harrelson said. 'If you just keep trying good things can happen!'
